Authenticator apps - Issues and ease of use
Websites are strengthening their security and I am being prompted to install a third party authenticator app so I have questions: - I have an Android phone and two Windows 11 devices. I understand the phone needs the Google Authenticator app and the Windows devices need the Microsoft Authenticator app. Q1 - Do I install the app on my phone and use just that one device for all three devices or do I need to install an app on each device. Q2 - Are these apps easy to use? Q3 - Has anyone had bad experiences or problems using them?56Views0likes3Comments24H2 + HP Pro Mini 400 G9. NIC disconnects, doesn't reconnect.
We have a batch of HP Pro Mini 400s and we've put 24H2 on them. They have the latest (as of 2 weeks ago when I rebuilt the driver stores) firmware and drivers. We've tested 24H2 on these and various other bits of hardware lying around to iron out any quirks......or so we thought. Some of them (1-2 in a room of 31) will quietly drop the network connection and not resume it while they're actively being used. The switch doesn't log anything (disconnect, for example) or bad traffic on the port. There's no pattern so far on when it happens. They're connected to Aruba switching (gig PoE+, loop-protect and spanning-tree on) and the patch leads in the rooms have been inspected and replaced as part of the refit. Testing the network jacks shows no issues.33Views0likes3CommentsHow to fully disable Onedrive? its driving me insane.
It's just meddling with my files so much that sometimes when im off the internet the backed up files would just go missing and a lot of them are software save files in Documents so its really bothering me. I have no idea how to remove Onedrive entirely, or how to turn off the backup at least.27Views0likes0CommentsWindows OS Simple Speedup Guide

My Windows 11 laptop won't show my rooted Android phone in File Exlorer. It only displays my unrooted phones. The "Show mobile device in File Exlorer" in the Windows "Manage mobile devices" settings is missing for the rooted Android, it only shows up for my unrooted phone. The Windows Phone Link app talks to both phones. Any idea what's wrong? Does some security setting keep my rooted phone out of Windows File Explorer?31Views0likes2CommentsHow to download youtube video on mac with 4k or 1080p
Hi all, Currently, I have a new programming course this semester and to get me more prepared, I want to learn the basic by myself. Actually, I found a couple of very interesting videos on youtube and already approved by the author to do that. I have a Mac computer at home and a Windows 11 PC at school. Is there any way to help me download youtube video on mac that supports 1080P or 4K video? Before making a new discussing, i already tried a few online youtube downloader tools but the video quality is awful. I want something fast and high quality. I have a problem with the screen capture tool. When I record my screen on video for more than 10 minutes, I am unable to save it. I can either never open the tool window or it gives me a still image instead of the video that has been played :') I have no way of recovering my precious videos, no matter what I do. Do you know how I can solve this problem?32Views0likes2Comments- 27Views0likes2Comments
Should I do a clean Windows 10 install first? Windows 11 update assistant crashed
catastrophic-error-0x8000ffff I just downloaded PC manager (Why is this not standard???) and it tells me that sys. files alone are 19.4Gb App Data is also huge. After poking about it seems like there's a lot of old system files dating back to my previous computer's time. And all this after struggling for literal years with storage on my 110Gb SSD and spending the past week trying to clear enough space to run the update. Option B, if a clean install doesn't fix the size is to also wipe everything and just install windows on D:18Views0likes0Comments- 17Views0likes1Comment
Truck Simulator: Big Rigs - Unexpected micro-stuttering on Windows 11?
Hi everyone, First-time poster here. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on a really frustrating performance issue I've been having since upgrading to Windows 11. I've been trying to play an older favorite game, Truck Simulator: Big Rigs and I'm experiencing persistent micro-stuttering that wasn't there on Windows 10. My hardware is more than capable of handling it (specs below). The strange part is that the game runs at a high, stable frame rate most of the time, but the stuttering happens consistently when multiple **big rigs** are rendered on screen at once. It feels like a resource loading or driver issue, but I'm at my wit's end trying to diagnose it. Here's what I've tried so far with no luck: * Clean install of the latest NVIDIA drivers using DDU. * Disabling the Xbox Game Bar and all background recording features. * Running the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7/8/10. * Disabling fullscreen optimizations. * Forcing V-Sync on/off in the NVIDIA Control Panel. * Adding the game executable to Windows Graphics Settings and setting it to "High Performance". * Ensuring VBS (Virtualization-based Security) is turned off. UPDATE & SOLUTION: After a lot of trial and error, I finally found the solution! It turns out it wasn't a driver or a standard Windows setting issue. It was a very specific problem with how the game engine handles asset streaming for the vehicle models, which seems to conflict with how Windows 11 manages memory for older applications. I managed to find a workaround that completely eliminates the stuttering. Since the fix is a bit detailed and might help others facing similar problems with this or other older games, I wrote up a full step-by-step guide with screenshots. You can find the solution and download here: https://modhello.com/truck-simulator-big-rigs/ Hopefully, this saves someone else the headache. Thanks again for the community support!38Views0likes2CommentsHard drive D gone
Without me having done anything special, my D drive has disappeared! The disk no longer appears in "Disk Management". Can you please guide me to help me? Our company has 3 Tiny PC PCs (Lenovo M93P Desktop Computer) with Windows 10 Pro and they are all running great. The problem is that Microsoft has decided to discontinue the support of Windows 10 and no security update after Oct 2025. This could be a big threat to computer security. We tried to upgrade to Windows 11 but the installation wizard shows our PCs are not eligible to run Windows 11 as there are a few system requirements are missing. Is there any workaround to upgrade to Windows 11 for free from Windows 10? We don't want to invest more money in buying Windows 11 compatible machines as they are expensive. As reference, here is the computer specs (Lenovo ThinkCentre): Processor: Intel i5-4570 3.2GHz (4 Cores) RAM: 8 GB SSD: 240 GB Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4600 Display: 21.5"FHD(1920x1080)137Views0likes6Comments
