You also need to make sure the picture is a 32-Bit color depth as mentioned here.

    cezarcretu I am also facing a similar issue to determine if it is a background image problem I would like to copy an existing background image file from the Hub and use it instead to test? 

    Is this possible and if so the location to access this file?

    SurfaceHub2S Did you finally resolve the issue if so do you mind sharing the outcome

      Hello brajan,

       

      There's no option to save a background picture from the device. However, if this was pushed through Endpoint Manager (Intune), you should be able to get the URL from the policy where the image is stored. Surface Hub will grab the picture from that location

        Thank You Cezar finally got it working Intune require https:// like to be auto downloadable
        Might was to consider updating the documentation to include this along with the rest.
        png file and 32 Bit color depth as mentioned earlier in this thread
